The Tiara Diaries
Looking for a fascinating and unusual presentation with plenty of sparkle?
Join us for our 4th annual exciting Tiara talk with Patte Rosebank.
This private collection has over 450 tiaras (and counting!), most of which are replicas of actual Royal or Aristocratic tiaras from around the world. Some have structural alterations or hand-coloured stones. The Collection even includes replicas of Royal Orders and Royal jewelry.
Some pieces were made by the bespoke atelier in England that made the replicas for movies and TV shows including "Victoria" and "The Crown". If you've ever wanted to see one of those as-seen-on-TV replicas close-up, now you can!
Each one-hour Tiara Talk showcases 12-15 items from the Rosebank Collection, with Patte's lively commentary, plus some general tiara history & etiquette, followed by a Q&A. Audiences are welcome to take photos after the presentation.
This event will have some favourites from last year's event, plus some new pieces from Russia, Germany, France, Spain and Canada! Also, a showstopper you won't believe!
The Rosebank Collection has been featured on CBC News, CityNews, and on Fairchild TV. But no camera can fully capture the multi-dimensional sparkle of thousands of rhinestones. To be fully appreciated, it must be seen in person!
What's included
Tiara presentation with Patte Rosebank, Q and A as well as photo opportunities.
Light refreshments will be provided.

UPCOMING DATES TO REMEMBER:
SUN MAY 11, 2025 |
Mother's Day
Mother's Day is not a stat holiday in Canada. It is celebrated in many countries around the world but not on the same day, although most countries celebrate Mother's Day in May. It is a day meant to honour mothers and appreciate their role in society and their role in families. In the weeks prior to the second Sunday of May flower sales spike, chocolate shops sell tons of cookies and Hallmark makes a fortune from card sales. We're not agaist flowers, cookies and cards but on this website we'd like to promote something else other than the obvious, materialistic aspects of holidays. (See thanksgiving and Father's Day.) How about on Mother's Day we spend some extra time with our moms, give them a hug and tell them how much we love them. Thank them for their efforts and time -- and don't forget breakfast in bed!

MON MAY 19, 2025 |

Victoria Day
Victoria Day (French: Fête de la Reine, lit. 'Celebration of the Queen') is a federal Canadian public holiday observed on the last Monday preceding May 25 to honour Queen Victoria, who is known as the "Mother of Confederation". The holiday has existed in Canada since at least 1845, originally on Victoria's natural birthday, May 24. It falls on the Monday between the 18th and the 24th (inclusive) and, so, is always the penultimate Monday of May (May 19 in 2025 and May 18 in 2026). Victoria Day is a federal statutory holiday, as well as a holiday in six of Canada's ten provinces and all three of its territories. The holiday has always been a distinctly Canadian observance and continues to be celebrated across the country. It is informally considered the start of the summer season in Canada. The same date is also, since 1952, recognized as the currently reigning Canadian monarch's official birthday (though, previously, that event had been marked in Canada typically on each monarch's actual birthday). In Quebec, before 2003, the Monday preceding May 25 of each year was unofficially the Fête de Dollard, a commemoration of Adam Dollard des Ormeaux, initiated in the 1920s to coincide with Victoria Day. In 2003, provincial legislation officially created National Patriots' Day (French: Journée nationale des Patriotes) on the same date.
